- UL-Underwriters Laboratories, a certification organization has ranked first in USA with the history of well over a century. UL provides safety-related certification, validation, testing, inspection, auditing, advising and training services to a wide range of clients, including manufacturers, retailers, policymakers, regulators, service companies, and consumers with more than 20 billion UL marks on approximately 72.000 products annually.
- DQS, the am of the founding partners, DGQ and DIN was mainly to promote the German economy. In addition, the foundation overlapped with the publication of the first drafts of the ISO 9000 series of standards, which also include the most important quality standard worldwide today: ISO 9001. Afterthat, in 1986, DQS became the first certification body in Germany to issue a certificate according to ISO 9001.
